Water Supply and Sewerage Infrastructure Design – Gradoman, Bankya

This project involved the detailed planning of water supply and sewerage infrastructure for a new residential development in the Gradoman district of Bankya.

The work developed the previously approved conceptual solution into a coordinated utility design capable of serving the newly planned development plots.

For the water supply system, the existing network configuration and design demand were reviewed to confirm that sufficient capacity was available for the proposed development. A new approximately 99-metre DN90 PEHD water main was designed, together with two fire hydrants to provide the required fire-flow coverage.

For the sewerage system, new DN250 and DN300 foul sewer branches were designed to convey wastewater to the existing municipal network. Hydraulic checks confirmed adequate capacity and reliable operation despite the steep longitudinal gradient of the site.

Stormwater runoff was also assessed as part of the wider development strategy. The analysis showed that the proposed site layout and drainage approach would reduce surface runoff by almost 50% following development.

The final solution integrates land-use planning, water supply, foul sewerage, stormwater management, and fire safety into a single coordinated infrastructure concept. It provides reliable utility services for the new development plots while making effective use of the existing municipal networks.
