Dr. eng. Rumyan Petkov

Dr. Eng. Rumyan Petkov is a water infrastructure consultant with more than 15 years of professional experience in water supply, sewerage, hydraulic modelling, and water infrastructure engineering.
He holds a PhD in Natural Water Treatment from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG), Sofia. His doctoral research focused on the stabilization treatment of drinking water within the water supply system of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. His professional interests include drinking water quality and treatment, hydraulic analysis of water supply and sewerage systems, and the implementation of advanced engineering technologies for the design and management of water infrastructure.
He is a member of the Chamber of Engineers in Investment Design (CEID), Bulgaria, and the Colegio de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos – Madrid, and is professionally licensed to practice engineering in both Bulgaria and Spain.
He has participated in more than 150 projects in Bulgaria and abroad, including residential developments, industrial facilities, data centers in Zaragoza, Spain, water and wastewater treatment plants, water supply and sewerage networks, as well as large-scale infrastructure projects of national and international significance.
His areas of expertise include hydraulic modelling, stormwater management, optimization of water supply and sewerage systems, infrastructure planning for development projects, and the delivery of complex engineering solutions for public and private investors.
He is fluent in English, Spanish, and French and has extensive experience working with international design teams, consultants, and investors on infrastructure projects in Bulgaria and abroad.
